We did it all the time in high tech - usually when describing a problem escalation. e.g.:
“At 0235 an alarm was raised at the NOC [network operations center]. The XXX server had gone offline and traffic was being rerouted to YYY and ZZZ servers. At 0250 engineering was paged and engineering troubleshot the problem. At 0305 the XXX server was brought online.”
