stupid germs, ruining my vacation
I think my doctor’s office made me sick. I felt fine on Tuesday when I had my appointment. But Wednesday morning, the back of my throat felt a little raw, and by yesterday, I was sneezing more than normal, even in the spring with all the pollen.
Today, I have a mild cough. I am still sneezing and I have drainage.
I am not happy. We leave for the sunny Caribbean in seven days. I CANNOT be sick for our trip. That would displease me greatly.
I’m already drinking lots of citrus, including lemon-lime juice with echinacea and ginger, but what else can I do? Does anyone have the all-purpose, never-fail remedy for a spring cold? Because I know if it settles into my sinuses, it’ll stick around until well into summer. That would SUCK.

Rest.
Which, of course, is almost impossible when trying to get ready for a vacation…
Well, at least it’s the weekend and I CAN rest. In fact, I have nothing to do except swing by a local apartment complex tomorrow morning to see how clean and well-kept it is in case we need to live there for a few months. Tomorrow = my nap day.
Have you tried zinc (Cold-eeze) and/or Airborne?
No, but I will. Can I get them at the regular drugstore? There’s a Walgreens on my way home.
Claratin if there is any suspicion that this could be allergy related.
Getting some rest wouldn’t hurt.
Yes, they both should be available at a regular drugstore or even grocery store. If not, you can get them at drugstore.com. My mom swears by Cold-eeze and I know others who love Airborne. Hope they help!
If you have a cold, Tylenol Cold Non-Drowsy is great.
