i have no words

This post brought to you by the letter A. For Apple. And for Amazing. And for Astonishing.

Why? Because my computer? The one I dropped off less than 48 hours ago? Is here. In my lap. With a working power input. And all my stuff still on it. (Yay for repairs not requiring wiping of the hard drive.) And it was a covered repair. Totally free. Expedited shipping. Back in my arms again.

Yay Apple! I know a lot of people complain about their service. Right now, I am not one of them. I’ve never needed to have anything repaired before, but this experience was so good that I won’t fret so much if I have to have something else fixed in the future.

Yey!!! I was thinking of a dell latitude in the future but now I will seriously consider an Apple… dell makes you do a song and dance (or more like 30 minutes of sitting on the phone)before they even pick up the phone to talk to you about problems you have, nevermind actually sending it in

I will say that having an Apple Store very close to me helped. You can get online, sign up for an appointment at the “Genius Bar” (read: tech support not much better than I could give myself, except they have the power to authorize repairs), go down there with your machine, and they’ll send it off for you. (And fix it so it gets sent back to your HOUSE and not the store, which was the best part.)

If you have to get on the phone for repairs from Apple, though, it’s probably not much different from Dell’s service. Call, wait on hold, they send you a box, you send it in, they send it back. Just an FYI.

Wow! That is an awesome repair experience… I’m glad to hear of a good one from Apple after hearing so many horror stories.

hahahaha, omg, i love that genius bar explanation… soooo accurrate. I used to be an engineer pre law school, and so I usually can diagnose my problems quicker than they can, but again i need their authorization to get it sent in to be fixed!!!

Wow, that’s amazing — and very heartening! Congrats!

Huzzah.
